Hoary-mustard is a perennial introduced from western Asia into California in the early l900's. The plants have white flowers. The leaves clasp the stem and the fruit is lens-shaped. The plant spreads by seeds, root fragments and an extensive underground creeping root system. It is found in cultivated cropland, fields and pastures.
